First Blog

Some people asked me to setup a blog and a RSS feed so that they can know when new artists are added to the site.

This is a good idea so, every time that I post the works of new artists, I will be updating the blog with information about the artist, the names of the pieces, etc.

If you want to receive this information, please, subscribe to the RSS feed.

As some of you will see, I've changed the main Painters page, including Thumbnails of the artists work to access their Galleries. I hope that this makes easier for you to find the art that you like.

The latest artist in our network is Deborah McCarroll. You can check some of her pieces under the Painters Menu. Just click on the Thumbnail of her painting to access her Gallery.

This this what she says about herself:

Deborah McCarroll

Deborah McCarroll has been painting and exhibiting in Seattle, Washington since 1989.

Her vibrant, acrylic canvasses frequently utilize gold, silver, and copper leafs. The leafs are then selectively treated with an acidic polymer which causes the metal to oxidize. Text is often incorporated into the compositions resulting in thought-provoking, lyrical "stories".

McCarroll has exhibited in Boston, Houston and Seattle.

"The different regions I have worked in were always an influence on what I was painting. Issues relevant to the environment shape an artist in terms emotional response, technique, etc. I'm doing the strongest work of my life, largely due to the robust environment of the Northwest and Seattle specifically. I tend to think of each work as a story or a film. There's always the expectation of something going to happen in every painting. Even the abstracts have movement and transition. I can stare at one of my paintings and things are happening. Movement, light. A life is being lived inside each one."
